Description

This is a hybrid position supporting international QA and new product development. The position is responsible for supporting Wendy’s product QA programs in the assigned International Region regarding food safety, quality, sanitation, production, and animal welfare for all products in accordance with the departmental plan of action. This includes auditing supplier compliance to the quality, sanitation, food safety standards and specifications set forth by the Wendy’s Brand. This role also plays a role in ensuring products meet brand standard requirements in flavour and performance.

 

Develops, updates, implements, and ensures consistent application of International Product Quality Assurance programs, policies and procedures, to ensure compliance with Company standards, and other applicable government or regulatory requirements.

Owns execution the company's International physical and virtual auditing program as designated for assigned territory to ensure products are consistently manufactured, supplied, and distributed in compliance with company quality standards, product specifications, external regulations, and sanitation requirements.

Provides technical support to the commercialization and manufacture of products that are developed for use in selected markets. 

Monitors contract laboratories, consulting firms and external reputable sources to support the evaluation of products, manufacturing procedures and sanitation levels of supplier facilities Schedules and conducts investigations and responds with appropriate actions in order to address and resolve potential product quality issues as identified by Manager, franchisees, company operations, and/or customers.

Support development of finished menu recipes through kitchen benchtop evaluations, in restaurant work and in collaboration with International Culinary Innovation team. Manage product and/or ingredient organization, preparation and feedback for sample reviews, menu tastings, product testing and sensory studies.

 

Education: Bachelors Degree

Food Science, Microbiology or Animal Science.

Knowledge of food science, HACCP, food processing technology, equipment, microbiology. Minimum 3 years’ work experience in food processing QA or Operations

Prior restaurant brand or Industrial food manufacturing R&D & product commercialization

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong computer skills.
