Description

Responsible for developing and executing all aspects of nominated category procurement and supplier development in UK and European Markets. Part of team responsible for daily SCM related functions and activities for the UK market to support sales and operations of the restaurants. Key focus will be on the development and implementation of suppliers in new European Markets. Supporting the Franchisee teams to find the right local partners and leveraging scale across multiple regions where applicable.

Working collaboratively with Wendy’s DRSC and Franchisees to ensure the supply chain is robust, scalable, reliable, fully leveraged to achieve values that are beneficial to the Wendy's system which drive sustainable competitive advantage for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement and Category Management: Support the sourcing, procurement, distribution, supplier selection, warehousing, transportation in assigned categories/regions. Support Global SCM strategies in developing long term category management plans that are effective in delivering all the supply chain objectives; cost, quality, supply, innovation/technology and system. Deliver food and paper cost improvement targets and productivity initiatives. Maintains in-depth knowledge of commodities, industries and markets.
  •  Local Market: Possess and maintain in-depth knowledge of local food and paper requirement as well as regulations including importation, tariff, ingredient specifications and sustainability/environment. Be familiar with local food suppliers, agents and distributors.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain good partnership with Franchise Partners in region. Supporting the enhancement of supplier and distributor networks in the countries in all managed markets. Establishes short- and long-term strategic direction and plans.
  • Supplier Management: Manage suppliers with KPI to ensure performance is measured and issues are addressed. Responsible for local negotiation, supplier relationship and executing the RFI/RFP process. Build contingency plan and capacity growth plan for key products and conduct testing periodically. Maintain a structured data set to facilitate accurate spend analysis, proper demand forecast and optimal supply network design. 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Management; preferably within Food/FMCG/Hospitality Sector

  •  International Supply Chain experience 

  • Supplier relationship mgmt. skills; Understanding of total cost of ownership and unbundling of supply chain

  •  Project management skills and multi-project experience

  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills required; additional language proficiency preferred but not essential

  •  Knowledge of in-country regulation and importation restriction

  • Commodity market analysis and strategy skills
