Overview:
Key Supply Chain and Procurement member for the UK Wendy’s system. Responsible for executing all aspects of nominated category procurement and supplier development in UK and assigned region. Responsible for daily SCM related functions and activities for the designated market to support store openings, sales and operations of the restaurants. Work collaboratively with Wendy’s International and region Franchisees to ensure the supply chain is robust, scalable, reliable, fully leveraged to achieve values that are beneficial to the Wendy’s system and drive sustainable competitive advantage for the business.

Key Responsibilities:
3PL Management: Own relationship with the 3rd party logistic provider. Work with 3PL partner to manage inventory towards no stock-out and no expiry. Manage the ongoing work and lead continuous improvement in workflow with assuring supplies to restaurants. Accountable for inventory, KPIs, account setup and deliveries for new stores. Address ongoing quality and supply issues from 3PL with regards to delay, inaccuracy, frequency, and other SCM related activities.

Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers on day to day activities with regards to timely supply, distribution, quality complaints and service level. Hold suppliers accountable to KPI adherence to ensure performance is measured and issues are addressed. Responsible for negotiation, supplier relationship management and executing the RFI/RFP process for designated categories.

Category Management: Support the sourcing, distribution, warehousing, transportation in assigned categories/regions. Deliver food and paper cost improvement targets and productivity initiatives. Maintains in-depth knowledge of relevant commodities, industries and markets.

Program Management and Report: Perform local market price comparison and cost analysis. Maintain and provide database information when required. Be resourceful in obtaining data and details pertaining to supply chain, trade criteria, regulation changes/bans and others.

Local Market: Possess and maintain a good working knowledge of local food and paper requirements as well as regulations including importation, tariff, ingredient specifications and sustainability/environment. Be familiar with local food suppliers, agents and distributors.

Franchisee Support: Develop and maintain good partnership with Franchise Partners in region. Supporting the enhancement of supplier and distributor networks in the countries in all managed markets. Establishes short- and long-term strategic direction and plans.

Cross Functional and Corporate Liaison: Collaborate and align with Wendys International teams to maximize synergy to meet overall business priorities. Support regional team and other respective business units for stocks updates, SCM activities and reports. Attend cross functional meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Education (majoring in supply chain, business, or related area): Bachelors Degree.
  • Knowledge in procurement, supply chain and logistics/distribution/warehousing. Understanding of importation, tariff, and regulation, and possess know-how in registration/documentation to bring in goods from EU and other countries.
  • Confident interacting and communicating across all levels of an organization --think clearly, be a perceptive learner, sensing the needs of the organization, act with high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficiency/Expertise in developing program materials; strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently without significant assistance or direction; work under pressure and time constraints and to handle changing priorities. High degree of professionalism, integrity and discretion. Ability to deal with complex situation and strong problem-solving skills.
