Our Events Food and Beverage Assistant role

Make the most of your summer and join us as our Events Food and Beverage Assistant. You’ll work across multiple departments, playing a key role in bringing our vibrant Summer Events programme to life.

Every day is different, and you’ll enjoy a summer packed with fun, activity, and unforgettable moments, alongside free surf lessons, discounted food and hotel stays, and more.

You’ll play a key role in creating a seamless, enjoyable experience for our guests by balancing speed, precision and care, even at our busiest moments.

This is a seasonal position from April – September, offered on a zero-hour basis - giving you the flexibility to enjoy everything Watergate Bay Hotel has to offer.

The areas you’ll explore

In this position, you’ll work across several areas of the hotel, picking up a great mix of hospitality skills along the way. Core areas include:

Pizza Cabin

In our Pizza Cabin, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, high-energy environment delivering consistently great food. You’ll take orders and process payments, as well as serving drinks, cash up, and assist team with stock and restocking.

Ice Cream Cart

Right on the beach, you’ll operate our ice cream cart by selling ice creams, processing payments, restocking supplies, and cashing up at the end of the day. You’ll also keep team informed when more stock is needed.

Beach Events

Each year we deliver a programme of Beach Events ranging from Beach Suppers to summer socials and community events. As part of our programme, you’ll look after our guests, support our team with setting up, and serve our food and drinks.

The Living Space and The Beach Hut

Finally, you’ll support our teams in The Living Space and The Beach Hut as either a Runner or Bar and Waiting Assistant (please note you’ll need to be over 18 to sell and serve alcohol). Your main responsibilities will be:

• Washing dishes and cutlery, making sure all areas have enough to use (this will include using our dishwashers).
• Polishing cutlery.
• Washing and polishing glasses.
• Cleaning and sanitising our kitchens and back of house areas.
