Female Support Worker – Daytime Role with Sleep-In Shifts

Pay: £14.00 per hour + £45.00 sleep-in payment
Location: Ipswich
Hours: Part-time / Full-time opportunities available, including weekends and bank holidays
Driving Licence: Full UK manual driving licence required

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate, dedicated and reliable Female Support Workers to join our team in a primarily daytime role, with sleep-in shifts required as part of the role when necessary.

This is a hands-on position supporting individuals with all aspects of daily living, both at home and in the community. You will play an important role in helping individuals live independently, safely and with dignity while working towards their personal goals.

The role will primarily involve daytime support, with occasional or scheduled sleep-in shifts depending on the needs of the individuals we support and the requirements of the service.

Typical Shift Pattern
  • Daytime shifts: Support individuals during the day with daily living, personal care, appointments, activities and community access.
  • Sleep-in shifts when required: An evening/day shift may be followed by a sleep-in from 11:00pm – 7:00am, paid at the fixed sleep-in rate of £45.00 per shift.
  • Flexibility will be required to work some weekends and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities
  • Follow individual support plans and risk assessments.
  • Support individuals with daily routines and activities.
  • Assist with personal care where required, including washing, bathing and toileting.
  • Support individuals to access the community, appointments and activities.
  • Administer medication in line with training, support plans and company policies.
  • Promote independence, choice and skill development.
  • Provide appropriate support during sleep-in shifts when required.
  • Respond appropriately to overnight support needs or emergencies.
  • Maintain a calm, safe and supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and report incidents or concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in handovers and meetings.
  • Promote safeguarding, dignity and wellbeing at all times.
  • Support individuals to achieve their personal goals and maintain meaningful relationships and community connections.

Please note: This role involves providing personal care. Where appropriate, this may be considered a genuine occupational requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Requirements
  • Full UK manual driving licence (essential).
  • Willingness to drive a mobility vehicle.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
  • A proactive, caring and reliable approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work daytime shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Willingness to undertake sleep-in shifts when required.
  • Commitment to promoting choice, independence, dignity and safeguarding.
