Description

The purpose of the Firefighter is to perform specialized duty functions in preparing for and responding to fire prevention, suppression, emergency rescue, medical emergencies, and first aid to Members, guests, and employees.

• Respond to and initiate appropriate actions on a variety of fire, medical and rescue incidents, hazardous material situations or
other requests for emergency situations to protect life and property.
• Apply the principles of incident command on all emergency responses and incidents.
• Provide on-site participation during emergency incidents and service calls.
• Perform operational or first response Hazardous Material mitigation.
• Participate in Fire Service and EMS training.
• Perform equipment and apparatus checks; inventory assigned equipment and ensure they are properly maintained and ready for
operation, as well as other in-house and fire station grounds maintenance and cleaning duties as needed.
• Document activities completely to ensure appropriate information is available regarding each call.
• Provide medical treatment and transport for injured Members, guests, employees.
• Ensure proper supplies are available and ambulance is ready for service.
• Give medical reports to the Emergency Room upon transport to another facility.
• Provide fire suppression in all types of fire situations.
• Perform search and rescue operations at fires to locate and remove victims.
• Perform ventilation operations at fires to remove smoke and heat from structures.
• Know and carry out duties in conformance with Federal, State, County and City laws and ordinances
• Respond to a variety of calls for service and other non-emergency situations.
• Assist in staffing and is responsible for his/her own shift in the YC Dispatch Center and be familiar with all aspects of dispatch
duties including; AMS updates, alarm account maintenance, entering alarm zone lists, caretaker information, OttoSecure, outside
vendors, related testing, and other functions of the Dispatch Center.
• Respond to a variety of calls for service and other non-emergency situations.
• Able to use current computer software for NFIRS reporting, call tracking, and other statistical data entry.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Yellowstone Club property including; roads, subdivisions, hydrants, water supply, buildings, and
property boundaries.
• Knowledge of fire protection systems, water supply, building construction, fire, medical, and rescue operations, disaster control,
and extinguishment of combustible and flammable materials.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner in accordance with established Yellowstone Club and
YCFD policies, procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
