OP Kids Assistant On-Snow Manager


Description

Purpose:  The purpose of Outdoor Pursuits is to facilitate safe, fun, and memorable experiences that transform the lives of Yellowstone Club members and guests. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Children’s On-Snow Supervisor staff & Instructors.  Seasonal duties would include the oversight of interviewing and hiring new staff, working with the training staff to determine training necessary for instructors, and to lead Supervisor staff on managing instructor’s schedules and the assignment of lessons.  The On-Snow Assistant Manager will coordinate the schedules of the OPK On-Snow Supervisors to ensure adequate coverage at all times.  The Children’s On-Snow Assistant Manager needs to be knowledgeable in the methods of Children’s ski instruction, a strong leader, and very organized. They also need to have strong communication with the OP Kids Manager, Winter Leadership Team, OPK Instructors, and members alike.


Major Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each member and guest receives outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Yellowstone Club professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times.  In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a positive working environment.

  • Aid the OP Kids Manger in program design, facility management, assessment, risk management, and staffing including hiring, training, and supervising.
  • Train and Lead OPK On-Snow Supervisors, along with maintaining the On-Snow Supervisor schedule, communicating it to the OP Kids Manager;
  • Lead morning discussions with OPK On-Snow Supervisors with a professional attitude and appearance;
  • Support On-Snow Supervisor Staff at Line-Up; Meet and greet parents and students on-snow with a professional attitude and appearance
  • Have oversight to the assignment of lessons to appropriate instructors, help instructors and On-Snow Supervisor staff determine splits;
  • If necessary, help instructors determine meeting times, options for lunch, and end of the lesson meeting locations with parents;
  • Work with On-snow Supervisors and instructors on how to plan, organize, and provide safe, fun, and professional instruction within the guidelines of the YC Snowsports School and the standards of PSIA;
  • Implement and train On-Snow Supervisors & instructors on summarization of lessons and how to fill out appropriate progress cards;
  • Communicate all concerns, questions, and scheduling issues with the OP Kids Manager;
  • Works well in an environment with children, either indoors or outside;
  • Is comfortable having vital conversations with staff and members alike;
  • Participate in all required training and education clinics.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Club policies,  procedures, and standards of service to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  • Meet departmental productivity, organization and consistency standards.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
  • Treat Members, guests, vendors, customers and co-workers with professionalism and respect at all times. 
  • Maintain privacy of our Members at all time.
  • Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times. 
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with all employees, supervisors, managers and directors.
  • Perform work in a safe and high quality manner.
  • Project a favorable image of Yellowstone Club to Members and guests at all times.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.  Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Participate and assist with Yellowstone Club events even if the event does not directly relate to the OP Kids Snowsports Program.

  • Ability to motivate instructors to teach/lead various children’s activities and games on snow
  • Clear knowledge of skier’s skill level and able to perform lesson splits
  • The ability to teach and recite the Skier’s Responsibility Code
  • Familiar with Alpine Technical Issues
  • Familiar with the Children’s Teaching Manual
  • Five years of work-related skill, knowledge, and experience
  • College or University degree or equivalent education
  • CPR/First-Aid Training (will provide if needed)
  • Similar Combination of education and experience
  • PSIA Level 2 Certification
  • Children’s Specialist Level 2

 

Experience/Education Preferred

  • PSIA Level 3 Certification

 

Certificates & Licenses

  • Montana State Driver’s License
