Our Restaurant Supervisor role

Tending to guests in a friendly and professional manner, you’ll promote an exquisite dining experience in an establishment that prides itself on sustainability, craftsmanship, and service conducted by a professional, knowledgeable team, working together across an open kitchen and intimate dining room, on the very shores of Watergate Bay beach - renowned for its front-row sunsets views.

A passionate team-player, and an advocate for our local produce and suppliers, you’ll be an active participant in embodying our brand values, ensuring that they are conveyed at every touchpoint within our approachable, yet refined setting.

Please note, this full-time position is offered on a zero-hour contract.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Welcoming guests in a warm, friendly, timely and relaxed yet professional manner.
• Assisting with all beverage ordering and deliveries to ensure good stock control, minimal wastage and that all budgeted GP’s are met.
• Maintaining a current knowledge of our menus and sharing this with both guests and team.
• Ensuring the continued smooth running of the restaurant across all areas.
• Deputising for the General Restaurant Manager when required.
• Working with our Head Chef and General Restaurant Manager to improve all aspects of our food service.
• Assisting in the ongoing training, development and performance management of a large team.
• Managing guest complaints, requests and enquiries in a relaxed yet professional manner.
• Facilitating a safe environment for both team and guests and adhering to the company’s health and safety policy and procedures.
• Offering new team members a helping hand, supporting their training and development.
• Working together as part of our committed, efficient and dynamic team.
• Following the guidelines outlined in the staff handbook and department standard operating procedures.
• Adhering to our Health and Safety and COSHH regulations (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).

What we’re looking for

• A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory position within a restaurant environment
• A strong customer service ethos, with a keen eye for the small details that make a meaningful impact
• A solid working knowledge of customer care and complaint handling
• A well-rounded product knowledge of food and drink
• A passion for proving the best customer service possible
• An excellent team leader and motivator, willing to act by example and embody an outstanding level of consistent customer service
• The ability to remain calm under pressure
• A natural decision maker, with a desire to go above and beyond to initiate meaningful moments and memories for our guests and team
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• The ability to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team
• A real energy and passion for everything that you do with lots of enthusiasm and personality
• A genuine desire to provide an excellent guest experience
• An aptitude for using new technology to facilitate a smooth ordering and billing process, without compromising our guest experience
