The Accounting & Reconciliation Associate plays a pivotal role in managing the fundamental aspects of the restaurant's financial recordkeeping. Your responsibilities will include recording financial transactions, managing accounts payables and receivables, reconciling bank statements, and providing leadership for the organization's financial functions.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare daily and weekly financial reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage accounts payables and receivables, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Identify and rectify any discrepancies or errors on POS reports promptly
  • Review and reconcile petty cash, voids, and promotional reports meticulously
  • Handle bank deposits and meticulously reconcile credit card statements
  • Raise purchase orders for operational expenditures within allocated budgets and place orders online once purchase orders are approved by department head
  • Attend HOD meetings and deliver comprehensive presentations on weekly operational financials
  • Effectively handle chargebacks with credit card companies in accordance with company policies
  • Coordinate seamlessly with outsourced accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Provide expert accounting support to other Zuma locations as required, maintaining consistency and accuracy

 

What We Look For

Our ideal candidate embodies our values and the following:

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting in restaurant industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel
  • Knowledge of GAAP and federal and state financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and performing cash reconciliation, bank deposits, and check handling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail
  • Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus but not required
