A Junior Sous Chef at Zuma you’ll be a key member of the kitchen team, acting as a support to the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and leading the kitchen team while maintaining the highest culinary experience.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant collection, inspired by the dynamic Izakaya dining style. This role will be based in Zuma Madrid. Zuma brings its world-renowned experience to the Spanish capital, featuring an iconic bar with our resident DJ's and our contemporary luxury dining. Main Duties
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations maintaining Zuma’s standards 
  
• Oversee the proper preparation, storage, and handling of food, ensuring strict adherence to Health + Safety and Food Safety regulations
• Monitor kitchen costs and budgets, taking proactive steps to reduce expenditure and improve efficiency where necessary
• Minimize waste by supervising deliveries and food preparation, ensuring the best use of ingredients
• Train, mentor and motivate junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and productivity while working closely with Front of House to ensure seamless service
