People and Culture Assistant, Madrid 

As a People and Culture Assistant you will support the effective delivery of People and Culture operations across our restaurants in Spain. You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and day-to-day HR administration, while helping promote a positive workplace culture. Working closely with restaurant managers and the People and Culture team, you will contribute to employee engagement, compliance, and the smooth operation of people-related processes that support overall business success. This role is a Fixed Term Contract of 9 months with the possibility of becoming permanent and will be based in Zuma Madrid.

Main Duties

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day employee queries, providing support on People & Culture policies, procedures and general HR matters.
  • Support daily People & Culture administration, including HR paperwork, employee records, employment letters and maintaining accurate information within the HRIS.
  • Coordinate employee accommodation and transportation matters, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring queries are handled efficiently.
  • Support the recruitment process by posting vacancies, sourcing candidates, conducting initial screenings, coordinating interviews and maintaining accurate records within the ATS.
  • Work closely with department heads to understand recruitment needs and ensure candidates receive timely and professional communication throughout the hiring process.
  • Support offers, pre-employment checks and onboarding, coordinating documentation and ensuring new starters have a smooth and welcoming first-day experience.
  • Coordinate new starter orientations, uniforms and relevant training, ensuring required certifications and onboarding activities are completed.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 1-3 years of hospitality administrative experience
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
