JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of the role is to assist in overseeing and directing a seamless running of the pastry department by providing a highly efficient and effective service whilst ensuring that all food items are prepared according to the standard recipes and guest satisfaction is consistent with the agreed standards.


MAIN DUTIES:

  • Oversee food preparation, minimizing waste and maintaining quality standards.
  • Support each pastry section to ensure creativity, flair, and consistency in service.
  • Plan orders for perishables and equipment, estimating food consumption needs.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all kitchen equipment and maintain clear, sanitized work areas.
  • Train and mentor junior pastry chefs, conducting regular training on knife skills and recipes.
