As a Junior Sous Chef at Zuma, passion meets precision, and you’ll play a pivotal role in leading the kitchen team while maintaining the highest culinary standards. With your expertise and leadership, you’ll help shape extraordinary dining experiences, inspiring both the team and our guests.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant collection, inspired by the dynamic Izakaya dining style. This role will be based in Zuma Mykonos, a first-of-its-kind lifestyle destination. Featuring a sleek infinity-pool, lounge, restaurant and resident DJs, our vibrant seasonal location is a dynamic lifestyle concept that captures the essence of contemporary dining and entertainment making it the dining destination in Mykonos.

Main Duties
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Showcase proficiency in all kitchen sections, continuously developing your practical and leadership skills to support the team effectively
  • Ensure all sections are prepared for service, maintaining Zuma’s reputation for quality, consistency, and creativity
  • Oversee the proper preparation, storage, and handling of food, ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations
  • Monitor kitchen costs and budgets, taking proactive steps to reduce expenditure and improve efficiency where necessary
  • Minimize waste by supervising deliveries and food preparation, ensuring the best use of ingredients
  • Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment of growth, communication, and feedback, while reporting progress to senior kitchen staff
