Description

A Junior Sous Chef at Zuma you’ll be a key member of the kitchen team, acting as a support to the Sous Chef and Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and leading the kitchen team while maintaining the highest culinary experience.

Zuma is a contemporary Japanese restaurant collection inspired by the informal yet sophisticated Izakaya dining style. Based in Mykonos, this role is part of our first lifestyle concept — a vibrant seasonal destination that blends Zuma’s signature dining experience with the island’s effortless sophistication and energy.

Main Duties
Your key responsibilities will include:

  •  Assist the Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations maintaining Zuma’s standards 
  • Oversee the proper preparation, storage, and handling of food, ensuring strict adherence to Health + Safety and Food Safety regulations
  • Monitor kitchen costs and budgets, taking proactive steps to reduce expenditure and improve efficiency where necessary
  • Minimize waste by supervising deliveries and food preparation, ensuring the best use of ingredients
  • Train, mentor and motivate junior team members, fostering a cultureof collaboration and productivity while working closely with Front of House to ensure seamless service

  • Previous experience in Japanese cuisine desired but not essential
