Join Zuma Vail as our People and Culture Generalist. We are hiring an energetic and self-motivated People professional to be part of our next opening in Vail, Colorado.

Our ideal candidate for this position will have experience in all areas of Human Resources including but not limited to labor law compliance, training and development, employee relations and employee engagement. 

 

This role will be based on-site and may require some training at one of our other Zuma locations in the US, prior to the restaurant opening.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Employee Experience: Be the first point of contact for employees and managers, responding to inquiries, coaching on people matters, and escalating as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure policies, documentation, and practices comply with federal and state employment laws and Azumi’s global People & Culture policies.
  • Performance & Development: Support the performance review cycle, goal setting, and probationary reviews; coordinate learning and development initiatives.
  • HR Systems & Admin: Maintain accurate employee records, process lifecycle changes (promotions, terminations, etc.), and ensure HRIS data integrity.
  • Manager Support: Coach and guide operational managers on employee relations, people processes and retention practices to build strong, high-performing teams
  • Payroll & Benefits: Collaborate with the Regional Payroll Manager, and external benefits providers to ensure accurate data processing and employee communications
  • Opening Support: Contribute to People & Culture operational readiness for Zuma Vail’s opening—including creating documentation, compliance audits, pre-opening hiring, logistics and orientation
  • Reporting & Insights: Prepare People & Culture metrics and insights on turnover, headcount, and engagement to inform local and regional decision-making

 

What We Look For

Our ideal candidate embodies our values, and will have the following:

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably in hospitality or retail environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of federal and Colorado state labor laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships across departments
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • A genuine passion for building culture and enhancing the employee experience
