Job Summary 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking Maître D to join the Elia Group team. You will manage the front-of-house operations, including greeting and seating guests, overseeing reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. They coordinate with staff to maintain high service standards and address any guest concerns promptly.


What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

  • Acts as the first point of contact for guest reservations and special occasions and requests. 

  • Manage the flow of the restaurant by strategically plotting reservations, and appropriately accommodate guests to ensure an iconic experience. 

  • Requests feedback from guests to ensure satisfaction with food, drinks, and service, assess customer inquiries, make recommendations, always striving to provide an iconic guest experience. 

  • Anticipates and accommodates all needs of the guests, welcoming, assisting with specific needs and seating them. 

  • Actively takes and processes reservations, while acquiring data and knowledge of The Elia Group guest list, using a reservation system. 

  • Manages team of host/hostesses, guiding and training them to create a remarkable dining environment. 

  • Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings to communicate reservations and guests for the shift.

Your success with us requires these qualifications:

21+ years of age. 

  • 5+ years of experience in the hospitality industry. 

  • Sales, promotion and event experience preferred. 

  • Must be self-motivated and guest focused. 

  • Excellent organizational/time management skills. 

  • Experience with touch screen POS and Reservation systems including backend reports.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  This position is regularly required to stand, reach, bend and lift heavy objects. The noise level in the work environment is typically high.  


  • Stamina and Endurance: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often during busy service hours.

  • Mobility: Capability to move efficiently between the dining area, front desk, and other sections of the restaurant.

  • Good Vision and Hearing: Essential for monitoring the dining area, noticing guest needs, and communicating effectively with both guests and staff.

  • Manual Dexterity: Skill in handling tasks like managing reservations, adjusting seating arrangements, and operating a POS system.

  • Strength: Ability to lift and carry light items, such as menus or reservation books.

  • Calm Under Pressure: Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during peak times or in response to guest issues.
