About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sous-Chef to join our dynamic team, leading the delivery of exceptional live events.

This role will see you act as a senior culinary lead, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food operations both on and off track. You will oversee all administrative aspects of the kitchen function, including the writing and costing of menus in line with agreed food budgets, ensuring commercial awareness and operational efficiency remain at the forefront of delivery.

In the absence of the Head Chef, you will deputise confidently, maintaining continuity, upholding standards, and driving team performance. You will play a key role in motivating and supporting the culinary team, working collaboratively while also demonstrating individual initiative to ensure seamless execution across all phases of the event lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities of the Sous-Chef:

General

• Support the Head Chef with off-track administration, including menu writing and costing in line with food budgets.
• Deputise in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring continuity and consistent standards.
• Lead, support and motivate the culinary team, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency and timeliness.
• Build strong relationships with Cadillac F1 Team stakeholders and internal teams, ensuring clear and transparent communication.
• Contribute to strategic objectives and adapt effectively across pre-event, live event and post-event phases.
• Integrate fully within the event team to deliver exceptional food and service standards.

Budget & Finance

• Assist with sourcing high-quality ingredients and managing event-related spend (food, labour, equipment).
• Track budgets accurately and follow company finance processes (POs, invoices, receipts).
• Maintain knowledge of global seasonal produce and food cost management.

Strategy

• Support the development and execution of the overall F&B strategy.
• Adapt menus to local trends and event locations while maintaining brand identity.
• Contribute to innovative, commercially viable menus aligned with client directives and hospitality trends.

On-Site

• Attend all F1 races and test events, supporting full event setup and pack-down.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health & safety and company standards.
• Deliver high-quality culinary output within strict timelines.
• Monitor stock, manage waste, maintain allergen documentation and report equipment issues.
• Share responsibility for overall kitchen operations and service delivery.

Other

• Support equipment logistics and packing requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and operational efficiency.

What We Are Looking For:

• Extensive experience as a Sous Chef, preferably in a high-end restaurant or hotel, or event catering
• Strong leadership with the ability to manage a diverse kitchen team
• Knowledge of a variety of international cuisines and cooking techniques
• Organised, punctual, motivated and with varied communication skills
• Conversant with all food safety standards and experience working in compliance with all HACCP regulations

Requirements

• The role requires travel and work abroad for approximately 27 weeks of the year, in line with the F1 calendar
• Adhere to standards of behavior and conduct expected by Absolute Taste and their clients
