We need a Commis Chef!

So what exactly is a "commis chef"? It's someone who is an allrounder really. They can make sandwiches on the sandwich section at lunch, do the dessert section in the evening, get involved in prep, rustle up a tray of chocolate brownies at short notice while accurately following the recipe, and they work clean too. Gotta work clean.

This is probably a part-time position, likely 25 hours a week and mostly daytimes. You'd need experience and a great work eithic, as well as a desire to learn stuff and be the kind of person that everyone likes to work with, no grumpy bums allowed. The Alex is a very busy pub but it's a great place to work too. Our head chef Chris is a lovely guy who believes in having a happy crew.   

The Alexandra is an award-winning, brilliant multi-bar pub offering wonderful pub food and a delicious premium drinks range. With a Lounge bar, Sports Bar, the iconic Green bar and an indoor/outdoor cocktail-led rooftop bar there is something for everyone. 'The Alex' is also very much at the heart of the Wimbledon community offering 'Meet Up Mondays' and free Christmas Dinners in an effort to help combat loneliness. Come and join us. What we look for in a Commis Chef:

We are looking for an existing Commis Chef, an excellent Kitchen Porter or an individual looking for their next step to their hospitality career, who consider themselves to have a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Commis Chef you will:

• Be an active hands-on person with a passion to work hard as part of a team
• Have high standards and a great work ethic
• Show willingness to learn new skills; be an active team player with excellent communication skills
• Working alongside your kitchen team; you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to deliver top quality service
• Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills to complete day to day tasks
