Group Financial Accountant-Maternity Cover


Description
WHO:
We are recruiting for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to cover Maternity Leave from between 9 to 12 months, starting around March/ April 2020.

This is a senior role supporting the Group Finance Director with responsibility for the preparation of all statutory requirements for our growing hotel group, and is based at our Central Support office in Bath.

They will be responsible for:

• Preparation of statutory accounts for all companies at year end;
• Preparation of the annual corporation tax returns in conjunction with the group’s taxation advisers;
• Assisting with annual audit process/ managing the provision of data to the group’s auditors for the year-end audit;
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and any queries which arise;
• Participating in the co-ordination of budgets for CAPEX and project expenditure;
• Managing the Capital Expenditure process for the group and reviewing all significant requests in line with pre-determined
budgets;
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed asset registers in conjunction with hotel Financial Controllers;
• Administering insurance claims, providing support to staff where necessary and supervising Claims Administrators;
• Project accounting for investment projects / assisting with acquisitions / disposals as and when they arise;
• Preparing monthly management accounts for the 2 parent companies and calculating monthly management charges and
any central support recharges;
• Managing intra group funding – loan agreements, interest charges;
• Assisting with HMRC/PAYE returns and obligations – P11d’s/ PSA’s;
• Managing the day to day running of our small finance function based in the Central Support Office.

THEY SHOULD:

• Be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with proven technical experience including Corporation tax and capital
allowances.
• Ideally have proven experience in a multi – site business.
• Be articulate and able to present financial information clearly, confidently and concisely both verbally and in written reports.
• Be able to plan and prioritise multiple tasks in order to meet challenging deadlines.
• Be confident, and able to work independently.
• Be a good team player and able to form and develop strong relationships both within the business and with external advisers.

This is a fixed term, full time position – direct applications only no agencies please.

WHERE:
Most of our central support team for Andrew Brownsword Hotels and ABode hotels use our beautiful town house office in central Bath as hub, but are always out and about in our hotels too. It is a great location to work from and meet the central team, but you are just as likely to see most of the team on their travels in our properties too.
