At F&B 575 LLC at Aman New York we truly believe in serving the best product. The final phase of the plate is highly dependent on every step prior beginning with quality assurance and storing product correctly to maintain its integrity. The receiver is the first step in assuring that the final plate represents the company in the best light.
The position has an hourly rate of $24.00.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure that all products received match the quality and quantity ordered by Chef’s through reconciling with purchase order.
· Develop relationships with local farmers and purveyors and assists Culinary leadership with frequent market runs.
· Personally ensure all received items are stored in a timely and efficient manner, focusing on items that spoil more quickly.
· Maintain knowledge of proper storage procedures in accordance with Department of Health expectations.
· Label all items appropriately with the name of the item and the date received.
· Rotate product in accordance with FIFO systems and assist culinary team with using correct product first.
· Identify product that is expired and discard of promptly following the SOP.
· Consolidate containers in food storage areas regularly to maximize space and maintain product quality.
· Ensuring cleanliness of floors, shelving, and surfaces in walk-in refrigerators, dry storages, and other F&B storage spaces
· Communicate with Culinary and Service Leadership regarding situations or shortages.
· Be aware daily of items that are running low and communicate it to Chefs and Managers.
· Maintain a good working relationship with all culinary and service colleagues, and leadership.
· Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work area.
· Always conduct oneself in a professional manner to reflect the high standards of Aman New York and encourage other colleagues to do the same.
· Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by leadership.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Extense product knowledge and a willingness to learn and identify new products.
· Literacy in reading purchase orders and invoices.
· Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Food Safety certification a plus.
· Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.
· Very high attention to detail.
· Sensitive to cultural nuances.
· Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
· Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
· Ability to consistently lift items more than 50 pounds.
· Multi-lingual is a plus.
