Job description
Collaborative, supportive, and with the ability to take charge and lead: our assistant managers work in tandem with our restaurant managers to make sure our customers receive the same fantastic service day in, day out.

Our assistant managers possess excellent people management skills, demonstrate a high degree of computer literacy, and have the verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers confidently and effectively. A strong track record in premium-casual restaurants is essential, and a proven ability to develop and train staff is highly desirable.

What we offer:

This role has an annual basic salary of £36,875.

Our managers, head chefs, and senior employees participate in our Quarterly Bonus Scheme, with on-target bonuses of up to 20% (or more) of salary dependent on restaurant trade and individual performance, bringing on-target earnings to just over £44,000 per annum.

Our employees also have access to a generous benefits package, including:
• Meals provided while on duty
• Staff discount across our restaurant and café businesses
• Christmas Day and Boxing Day off, as well as your birthday (after one year’s employment)

It's important to say that we've moved away from tips, and for good reason: our team's remuneration is written into contracts and bonus schemes, and isn't reliant on gratuities - for more information go to https://jprestaurants.com/news/living-wage-employers

Contract and hours:

This is a permanent, full-time role.

A work-life balance is important to everyone in the business, and we strive to ensure that everyone works a 5-day week on a regular basis.

Accommodation:

The Company can arrange live-in accommodation for those moving to Jersey, either above our some of our restaurants, or with accommodation partners. The accommodation costs between £600 and £700 per month, depending on the room and its location.

Accommodation in the local market ranges from £600 (single room) to £1,500 (one-bedroom flat) per month.

Right to work:

Applicants without UK nationality or EU (pre) Settled Status can apply for this role, and JPRestaurants would apply for a work permit for successful candidates.

Our approach:

Our aim is for customers to leave wanting to return – and recommending us to their friends and family. With our customer-first approach, we are clear and transparent about what we offer and what customers can expect, and we are constantly listening to feedback from our customers and team members on how we can improve further.

Our business:

Established in 1946 as a small family-owned studio pottery, Jersey Pottery grew to become one of the Island’s busiest and most popular tourist attractions in the 1980s. In the early 1960s a coffee bar was introduced to cater to tourists visiting the ceramic factory and showroom. The original coffee bar was the beginning of JPRestaurants, which has now become one of the leading restaurant and catering businesses in Jersey, serving thousands of customers daily with fresh, local and innovative food.

JPRestaurants has invested in digitalisation to drive excellence, enhance customer service and build a better working environment for its workforce. Our team has the opportunity to work and develop skills in a hospitality environment backed by a world-class technology infrastructure and innovative working practices.

We are also mindful of our role as a local business and look to work for the benefit of our community and environment through careful management of our suppliers, good working conditions and initiatives to support others less fortunate than us.
