The role Of the Assistant Bar Manager
- Support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day operations of the bar, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Maintain high standards of food and drink presentation, as well as overall bar aesthetics, in line with company guidelines.
- Deliver exceptional guest service by addressing queries and feedback with professionalism and efficiency.
- Train, develop, and supervise bar team members, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Support the Bar Manager with hiring for the bar and floor team by assisting with Interviews, screening calls and trial shifts, providing relevant and suitable feedback.
- Implement and monitor health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both staff and patrons.
- Supervise and support the team during operations, while collaborating with the Bar Manager to drive continuous improvements.
- Cultivate strong team connections, demonstrate passion for innovation, and act as a positive role model.
What we’re looking for in an Assistant Bar Manager:
- Proven experience in a senior bar management role within a high-quality hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of, and passion for, European wines, classic and modern cocktails.
- Keen attention to detail, upholding high standards of drink presentation, service, and overall guest experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering teamwork in line with company values.
- Ambition for personal growth in bar management and enthusiasm to contribute to the bar development programme.
- Ability to build genuine connections with both guests and team members.
- Extensive product knowledge with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
- Solid understanding of financial management, especially in cost control and payroll oversight.
- Competent in Health & Food Safety regulations and compliance.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
