Job Purpose
Belcampo Meat Company Prep Cooks are responsible for setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. We are looking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen.
A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve their skills and knowledge of the industry. A prep cook is able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. 20% Prepare cooking ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking: Properly wash, chop and store all ingredients in compliance with food safety standards
2. 20% Follow the prep lists created by Chefs to plan duties
3. 20% Receive orders and label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
4. 15% Maintain a clean and orderly station at all times
5. 15% Informs Sous Chef or Head Chef immediately when the ingredients stock is getting low or when the kitchen tools do not work properly
6. 10% Contributes to team effort by going above and beyond the duties described here

Knowledge: – Broad knowledge of product I.D.
– Basic knowledge of cooking techniques
– Safety and sanitation
Skills: – Assess the quantity and quality of prep
– Cook and prepare foods to the Chef’s specifications
– Basic knife skills
Abilities: – Work well with others
– Communicate effectively with the entire team
– Display a proactive interest in food
– Manual Dexterity
– Stamina
Technology related KSAs: – Operate a telephone
Minimum Qualifications
– 1-year kitchen experience required
– Current Serve safe is required
Physical Requirements
– This position requires an employee who can work standing for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week
– Lift approximately 30 pounds
