Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting the Sushi Chef in the preparation and production of sushi items for our guests in accordance with company food preparations and service guidelines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Works in front of guests while preparing food at the sushi bar and ensuring a fun and inviting experience.
  • Prepare all sushi items according to recipe requirements and adhere to product sensitivity and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Read tickets and prepare order.
  • Coordinate tickets with service/kitchen staff and managers.
  • Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items.
  • Keep updated on recipe changes and ensure proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high quality and consistent product.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
  • Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of station.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar and equipment. 

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member's role in the guest dining experience.
  • Ability to prepare food for consumption with background knowledge of proper techniques and equipment to be used.
  • Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
  • Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handler’s card.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance of state law.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
