We are incredibly excited to be bringing Blacklock to Birmingham this April, opening in a beautiful listed building in the heart of a city we’ve long admired and longed to be part of.
Blacklock was born from a love of great food and fantastic experiences, championing the Chophouse and all its traditions: unpretentious, familiar, and above all else, open to all.
WHY WORK FOR USAll our restaurants have been voted in the Top 100 restaurants in the UK, but more importantly, they are happy places to work.
We’re passionate about building meaningful careers for our teams, serving the very best of British produce, and delivering genuine hospitality from people who truly care.
At Blacklock, we strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can be true to themselves, feel valued, and have equal opportunities to grow. We are committed to cultivating a diverse team that respects a variety of voices, identities, backgrounds, and experiences because when our team thrives, so does our philosophy: everyone leaves happy, including you!
At Blacklock, our team’s welfare and happiness always comes first. We value the importance of work-life balance and offer the following benefits and welfare:
Blacklock experience-for-two at one of our restaurants to celebrate passing probation
1, 3 and 5 year anniversary gifts, including weekends away and a fully paid sabbatical to celebrate bigger milestones
50% off food in all our restaurants (up to 4 people)
30 days’ holiday (28 statutory plus an extra day for your birthday and a company holiday for Blackstock)
Enhanced maternity, adoption and paternity leave
Charity Day – we’ll pay you while you help others (optional volunteering day each year)
One hour paid break when working a double shift
Christmas and New Year’s Day off (we’re closed 24–26 December and 1 January)
Family meal and soft drinks when at work
Cycle and Tech schemes, plus ‘Extras’ discounts
Cost price chops and wine
Two days’ paid Paw-ternity to look after your first puppy
Face-to-face counselling support, legal advice, hardship grants and free mortgage advice through our Employee Assistance Programme
We’ll invest in your training and development and help you build a clear career path for progression. And last but not least, we host brilliant team parties, including Blackstock -our annual company festival.
You’ll be the first face our guests see and the person who sets the tone from the moment they arrive. Delivering genuine, generous welcomes is at the heart of this role, alongside keeping the door running smoothly and the restaurant flowing well.
We’re looking for someone naturally warm, organised, and confident, with an instinct for reading people and situations. You’ll communicate clearly with the floor and management teams, manage bookings and walk-ins thoughtfully, and make smart decisions that balance great hospitality to ensure a smooth operation of service.
We’ll support your development and give you the opportunity to grow with us as we open in Birmingham.
If this sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to hear from you.
