Sherwood Country Club is a world-class private country club located in Thousand Oaks, California. The Club boasts a signature championship 18-hole golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and golf club in addition to tennis courts, croquet courts, and a spa. Sherwood Country Club is a premier Southern California wedding and event destination with timeless architecture nestled within the stunning surrounds of picturesque mountains and a tranquil lake.
The Chef de Cuisine will be largely responsible for overseeing the The Oak Room, our 80 seat Member Dining Room. The Oak Room offers seasonal menus of upscale yet approachable and locally sourced California fare in addition to weekly buffet and casual pub menus. The Oak Room is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday and for lunch 6 days a week.
The ideal Chef de Cuisine candidate has a professional attitude with strong communication skills with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in management preferably in upscale hotels and Country Clubs. An understanding of club culture is required for this role.
Responsibilities include:
- Menu input and seasonal changes in collaboration with the Executive Chef
- Overseeing a team of 7 BOH including staffing, training and mentorships.
- All administrative responsibilities (ordering, inventory, scheduling, managing food costs, etc.)
- Occasional oversight in other outlets and for large scale events.
Salary: $60k - $70k depending on experience. Discretionary bonus based on performance and excellent medical incentives.
