Overview

The FOH Lead is the store manager’s right hand and plays a key role in setting the tone for hospitality and daily operations. This role combines hands-on service with leadership responsibilities, supporting opening/closing procedures, assisting with training, maintaining product quality, and ensuring smooth flow during busy periods. The FOH Lead helps build a strong, positive team culture and ensures every guest interaction reflects The Buttery’s warmth, quality, and attention to detail.

Leadership & Operations

  • Support the managers in overseeing daily operations and serve as Shift Supervisor as needed.

  • Lead the FOH team during service, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional hospitality.

  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members, reinforcing service and product standards.

  • Support the manager in upholding brand standards across the store and with personnel. 

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness at all times.

Customer Service & Experience

  • Deliver warm, knowledgeable service while ensuring a smooth, efficient guest experience.

  • Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Maintain full product knowledge to support strong customer communication.

Operational Support

  • Assist with retail inventory management, stock rotation, and supply ordering.

  • Support accuracy in cash handling, POS operations, and daily sales procedures.

  • Uphold food safety practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of hospitality or cafe experience, with leadership or shift-lead experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to lead by example with warmth, professionalism, and a focus on quality.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adaptability and willingness to support both service and operational tasks as needed.

  • Passion for hospitality, with a love for food, beverage, and creating excellent guest experiences.

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to a supportive, growth-minded workplace.
