Our porters play a vital role at The Island Quarter.   We take great pride with the environment in which we operate, and it is the Porters' responsibility to ensure that all equipment is fully functioning, the building is safe and all events are set up to standard as well as ensuring the safety of our guests and colleagues at the forefront of everything that they do.

This person supports the Cleaver & Wake and the Binks Yard team to keep the building and exterior clean, tidy and organised at all times.  The role will include supporting FOH, Kitchen and events team with general daily duties such as organising storage areas, keeping exterior areas clean, tidy and set. There will be heavy lifting required at times, but the role is multifunctional always something new to tackle head on!

Friendly and approachable, you'll have previous experience working in a similar role and you will understand the importance of maintaining high standards as well as working to statutory requirements and compliance.  Keeping our guest journey to the highest standard is something you strive for, nothing is too much trouble and you're always happy to help the wider team.

Key Accountabilities

●      To set the terrace furniture out, water the bedding plants and generally take care of all external areas

●      Ensure the refuse area is kept in good condition, general clean and tidy, report any issues

●      Organise storage containers, keep inventory of each container, move stock from building to containers and vice versa 

●      Report any maintenance issues 

●      Assist the bar and events team with set up, deliveries, movement of tables etc 

●      Keep back of house areas clean, tidy and free from hazards 

●      Assist Binks Yard events with set up, fencings, equipment and other activities as required

Key Requirements Experience:

●      Previous experience in a similar role is ideal

●      Proven track record of being a self-motivated and organised individual

●      Understand the physical demands of the role

●      Driving licence is ideal but not essential 

●      Have a passion & knowledge for cleanliness and organisation

●      Strong understanding of health and safety

●      Weekend availability essential
