Job Summary
As a Line Cook at Carama, you’ll play a key role in delivering the exceptional food quality and presentation that defines the Wolfgang Puck brand. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating menu items with precision and consistency while upholding the highest culinary standards.
Key Responsibilities
Execute all cooking techniques with accuracy: sautéing, roasting, braising, grilling, broiling, baking, steaming, and poaching
Prepare ingredients and dishes according to standardized recipes and specifications
Maintain proper food storage, labeling, rotation, and sanitation practices per health and safety regulations
Follow the kitchen’s production schedule and contribute to prep work as needed
Maintain proper portion control, plate presentation, and garnishing standards
Keep workstations clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout service
Assist with inventory control and the receiving and stocking of deliveries
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient and smooth service during peak periods
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum 2 years of relevant cooking experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, fine dining kitchen
Preferred:
Previous experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants
Proficiency with specialty equipment such as tilting skillets, salamanders, pasta makers, and steam kettles
Basic English communication skills; ability to read and follow recipes and instructions
Skills & Abilities
Excellent knife skills and food preparation techniques
Attention to detail, consistency, and commitment to excellence
Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Passion for quality ingredients and inspired culinary craftsmanship
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for long periods
Regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs
Exposure to heat, cold, and loud kitchen environments
