Big Data Engineer

Harri is looking for a Data Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in the field to join our team.

As a Data Engineer you will be challenged to help maintain a sophisticated and powerful data warehouse that supports internal and external reporting and data exports for our workforce OS platform for the hospitality and retail industries while contributing to the overall culture, performance, and integrity of our established team. Also, you will be asked to maintain a hygiene and reliable Data Structure, develop APIs, Generate Reports, and Prepare Data Sets for further analysis and Business Intelligence Activities.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Have proven working experience in building applications using Java (Backend Development).

• Have proven working experience in building applications using Python (Backend Development).

• Have proven working experience in the “Spring” framework(Spring Boot, Core, and Security).

• Have proven working experience in the “Spark” framework (Boot, SQL, Streaming).

• Have proven working experience in SQL, relational, and non relational databases.

• Have a keen sense of the importance of Object-Oriented development, design patterns, HLA.

• Have proven working experience with Hadoop, Map-Reduce and frameworks/tools around the Hadoop ecosystem, Hive, Presto.

• Have working experience in Stream Processing frameworks (Spark Streaming, Flink, Storm).

• Have working experience in Streaming frameworks (Kinesis, Kinesis Firehose, Kafka, ActiveMQ...etc).

• Have solid working experience in the ETL process and data warehousing, & schema design.

• Have working experience in Snowflake Data Warehouse.

• Have working experience in building and scaling APIs (REST, SOAP).

• Experience with AWS components especially EMR, S3, GLUE, Lambda, EC2...

• Experience with GIT repositories.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum and SDLC.

• Having working experience in Scala is a plus.

Requirements:

• BA Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Or related field.

• Professional team player with ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to conduct code reviews.

• Ability to participate effectively and proactively in solutions’ designs and problem solving.

• Contribute to the overall culture of the company.

• Fluent in English and can communicate and express ideas clearly.
