The Title:

CAVA is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Corporate Tax Accountant to join our team. You will work closely with the Accounting and Finance teams on tax related projects and will be primarily responsible for the tax compliance and reporting functions. You'll be joining a fast-paced, dynamic enterprise and will be exposed to a wide range of disciplines. Our ideal candidate in enthusiastic and has strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs technical research with regards to ASC 740 and other topics as needed
  • Prepares quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
  • Assists with compiling tax footnotes and disclosures for public filings
  • Maintains quarterly FIN 48 and FAS 5 tax accruals
  • Maintains monthly tax account reconciliations to ensure accurate tax reporting
  • Assists with federal and state tax audit defense
  • Maintains fixed asset sub-ledger for tax reporting
  • Prepares federal and state income tax returns for the consolidated group
  • Prepares federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments
  • Coordinates with outside partners for preparation of sales and use tax filings
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential / sensitive company information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties
  • Abide by policies and procedures that support the service mindset
  • Manage timeline expectations within and across teams, deliver on our responsibilities accordingly
  • Earn the trust of Team Members and Managers by consistently embracing CAVA’s values
  • Show discipline in bringing consistent performance, communication, and attitude to the job every day
  • Actively contribute to your department in order to complete tasks and meet company goal

The Qualifications:

  • Several years of tax experience in industry or public accounting
  • Income tax compliance experience (OneSource compliance experience a plus)
  • Experience with ASC 740
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or week
  • Flexible with a positive attitude and a passion for knowledge
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once
  • Possesses focused attention to detail and solid organizational and prioritization skills while working quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Professional manner and strong communication skills internally and with outside partners
  • College degree in Accounting
  • Preferred CPA or CPA candidate

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
