 Senior Director of People & Culture, Support Center:

The Senior Director of People & Culture (P&C) will be the strategic partner to all department leaders at CAVA’s Support Centers in matters of Talent Management, Employee Relations, Succession Planning, Leadership Advancement Organizational Development, Talent Calibration, Office Management and Driving & Maintaining Culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create the P&C strategy for Talent Management practices and execute those practices in partnership with the department leaders at CAVA.
  • Focus on driving organizational success by establishing best practices and continuing current practices of Talent Management for all areas of the CAVA Support Center teams.
  • Drive behavior change in the organization through CAVA’s competencies and bring the competencies to life in all aspects of the employee life cycle. Partner with other leaders on the P&C team and across the enterprise to drive solutions for best practices.
  • Lead the performance management practices for the organization, bringing to life the Impact Plan process through effective coaching of others on their Impact Plans, offering training to the organization on effective Impact Plans, and reporting data on achievements of the Impact Plan process across the enterprise. Challenge and upgrade the process where needed, always looking for continuous improvement to be woven throughout the practice.
  • Partner with Department Leaders and other Directors in P&C to guide managers on appropriate and effective employee relations matters. Coach and counsel department leaders on the best course of action to take considering all company policies, employment law and best course of action under the performance management programs.
  • Establish the right training resources and expand upon current resources for the organization to deliver both competency and leadership advancement programs at CAVA for all Support Center functions.
  • Partner with other Directors in P&C to lead the employee engagement survey process and related action items through the Culture Champions and create new programs to bring culture advancement to the center stage of CAVA’s focus. 
  • Continuously look for ways to build upon the exceptional culture that CAVA has to offer by assessing what is working and what can be improved.  Take action to implement the culture changes that our employee’s request through the engagement survey.
  • Spearhead regular People Calibration conversations with each Department head to understand the current state of each organization within the enterprise and move cross function peers to action for any change needed in performance management, compensation, recruiting and other as deemed necessary through the People Calibration sessions.
  • Design and execute an effective Succession Planning process that can be used throughout CAVA’s Support Center, focusing on results and competencies, long-term growth needs and modern tools/technology that make a difference in talent readiness.
  • Partner with the Director of HRIS to assess the right People technology solutions that will support CAVA’s growth and effective Talent Management. Be a partner in rolling out all solutions related to Talent Management.
  • Lead a team that manages the day-to-day effectiveness of the Support Center buildings across the enterprise including the current Collaboration Center in Washington D.C., and Support Centers in St. Louis, Plano, NYC.
  • Create policies and procedures that ensure each Support Center is operating effectively both strategically and tactically. Items include but are not limited to security procedures, pandemic protocols, and management of visitors and deliveries.
  • Help design policies and procedures in partnership with the Sr. Director of P&C Field for cohesion in policies and procedures across the enterprise.
  • Set the example of CAVA competencies by leading by example.  Develop and coach a team of individuals inspired to lead by example and represent CAVA with our values.
  • Take on special projects as assigned from time to time.  Items include but are not limited to the roll out of any new mission/vision/values, the planning of annual meetings and Town Halls, the facilitation of speaking engagements and other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with a focus on all aspects of Talent Management.
  • Proven record creating and executing strategic Talent Management programs that create lasting impact.
  • 10+ years leading a team of people and developing team members for advancement.
  • Experience creating and delivering programs focused on connecting competencies- Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Training, Leadership Develop and Culture change.
  • A leader who is constantly seeking to improve and challenge the status quo making themselves and their team a beacon of excellence in the organization.
  • A driver of results who is motivated to see the organization achieve its targets through its people and programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment

  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner  
  • Ability to travel by plane, trains, cabs, Ubers, car and other means of transportation
