Senior Engineering Manager - Digital

At CAVA Support Centers we love what we do, and we try and make every day as fulfilling as the last. Our Support Center needs fanatics in tech, marketing, human resources, finance, operations, supply chain, and store development to support our growing brands.

The Role :
Be a hands on Leader
to our amazing Cava Digital Team as we are  developing  the next version of our CAVA digital ordering platform with an enhanced features to offer the best customer experience, technical excellence and cutting-edge design.  Help us raise the bar and set an industry standard in restaurant technology innovation by serving as a technical team leader. You will foster creativity, collaboration while leveraging modern tools and agile practices to support highly productive and fast paced software development lifecycle.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as a guiding force, a go-to, highly skilled hands-on leader for a world class technical digital team
  • Provide team development including actively guiding on software engineering best practices and any potential roadblocks
  • Be the driver of high quality, winning outcomes in of a great software engineering team. 
  • Work as the point person in the very collaborative hiring process, to help secure the best talent for our growing team
  • Ensure our new team members have a productive, positive onboarding experience and are set up for success
  • Own release management coordination across multiple agile teams to ensure timely releases of product and engineering roadmaps.
  • Work closely with architects, development partner teams, cross-functional SMEs, and product owners to implement holistic and high-performance technical solutions that satisfy business and technical objectives including functional and non-functional requirements
  • Aid in the review of implementation design at a code and system level
  • Provide technical expertise to mentor, teach and grow engineers through code reviews of key components
  • Be hands-on for troubleshooting to ensure issues are solved and provide the how to story
  • Serve as a liaison with enterprise cloud, cybersecurity, restaurant, and operations teams to ensure cross team communication and alignment


What you have done in the past:

  • Have multiple years of success as not only a leader of people but in software development as well
  • Served as a cross functional superstar that works with business and product teams to understand and solve complex problems
  • Bring to life the long-term "big picture" strategy and short-term initiatives to make gains
  • Planned, managed, implemented, delivered and optimized software releases across multiple teams
  • Developed and presented various solution options leveraging appropriate technology stack(s)
  • Wrote robust, highly performant and testable, well-crafted code and taught others how to do the same
  • Been a communicator of both technical and non-technical so that all people can follow your lead
  • Ensured engineering teams successfully implemented solutions that were operationalized in RESTful web services, microservices
  • Provided successful builds in web & mobile using React or a similar JavaScript framework
  • Gained hands-on experience on cloud platforms (AWS or similar) and containerization (docker)
  • Developed in Elixir, NodeJS, TypeScript or similar and performance tuning in PostgreSQL, NoSQL or similar
  • Acquired a solid understanding of performant resilient enterprise scale cloud systems involving e-Commerce
  • Integrated CI/CD tools and pipelines – CircleCI/Jenkins/gitlab/CodePipeline or similar
  • Used git and pull requests to manage code changes; github, bitbucket

 

Bonus Points For:

  • Restaurant / Hospitality / Retail industry experience
  • Experience in developing using agile methodologies, test driven development
  • Knowledge of using Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

 

Physical Requirements:

Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer

Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipmentMust be able to identify, assess and observe detail

Must be able to occasionally push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 pounds

Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly

Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist occasionally

Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
