The Role: Junior Designer

We are looking for a motivated Junior Designer to support the design and development of new restaurant openings. Working closely with the design team, project managers, and contractors, you will play a vital role in delivering brand-consistent, visually appealing, and functional environments for our fast-paced fit-out projects. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to the creation of exceptional restaurant spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development:
• Assist in conceptualizing and developing store designs that align with brand aesthetics and functionality.
• Create design drawings, 3D models, and presentations to communicate ideas to stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of design packages, including floor plans, elevations, materials, and finishes.
• Project Management Support:
• Coordinate design timelines with the Lead Designer and Project Manager, ensuring fast-track schedules are met.
• Participate in site visits to monitor progress and help resolve design-related challenges during the fit-out phase.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure materials and finishes meet design and quality standards.
• Fit-Out & Installation:
• Review shop drawings with the design team to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent.
• Assist in coordinating the installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Help troubleshoot on-site challenges to ensure timely project completion.
• Design Standards & Innovation:
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, materials, and innovations relevant to restaurant design.
• Contribute to maintaining design standards and propose improvements for future projects.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in commercial or retail interior design, preferably in hospitality or food service.
• Familiarity with fast-track fit-out projects is a plus.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering software.
• Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and FF&E specifications.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings and design documents.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects.
• A team player with excellent communication skills.

Other:

• Willingness to travel for site visits and project meetings as needed.
• Passion for restaurant design, trends, and customer experience.
