About Us

Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) is one of the UK’s fastest-growing hospitality businesses, on a mission to be the Best Restaurant Group in everything we do. Passionate about exceeding expectations, we deliver memorable experiences for our guests and empower our teams to thrive.

Guided by our core values – Honest, Hardworking, Hungry, and Heart – we foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

The Role: Design Manager

We are seeking a creative, detail-driven individual to join our team as a Design Manager. In this hands-on role, you’ll take the lead in shaping and delivering exciting new restaurant openings, ensuring each project aligns with brand vision and is delivered on time and within budget.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external contractors, playing a vital role in everything from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Property Team on potential new sites.
  • Visit prospective locations to assess viability, take key dimensions, photographs, and make notes on spatial opportunities.
  • Create initial "test fit" layouts using AutoCAD and refine these following verified surveys.
  • Design layouts that align with brand identity and operational needs.
  • Oversee and coordinate drawing packs in AutoCAD, working closely with the Junior Designer and Architectural Technician.
  • Ensure FF&E quotes are accurate and within budget, supporting the Junior Designer where needed.
  • Collaborate with the QS and Project Manager to manage timelines, budgets, and value engineering.
  • Attend site visits throughout the build, including snagging and handover stages.
  • For non-Slims sites, produce supporting design packs such as mood boards, materials specifications, rendered elevations, and visual briefs (external CGI partners currently used).
  • Manage and schedule the internal design team’s workload and site visits weekly.
  • Take minutes for weekly calls with all contractors.

About You

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient in: AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Office
  • Experience in fit-out processes, FF&E, and site-based design
  • Highly organised with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with autonomy

Desirable:

  • Experience with SketchUp and rendering software (preferred but not required)
  • Previous experience in hospitality or retail environments

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Interior Architecture, Design Studies, or Architecture

What’s in It for You?

At BRG, we offer more than a job — we offer a career in a growing business with brilliant benefits:

  • 50% off across all our brands for you and five friends
  • BRG Spark App – thousands of exclusive retail & restaurant discounts
  • 20% off at Carluccio’s gift shop & deli
  • Free mortgage advice & access to our Financial & Wellbeing Centre
  • Use Wagestream to access earned pay anytime
  • Healthcare Cashplan & Employee Assistance Programme
  • Refer a Friend bonuses
  • Career development opportunities across our expanding brand portfolio
  • Flexible working to support work-life balance

If you're ready to take the next step in your design career and help shape the future of hospitality, we’d love to hear from you.
