The Atlantic Hotel - Housekeeping

Description
About us

The Cornwall Hotel Collection is a locally owned group of four distinctive hotels, each with its own character, history and sense of place.

It is united by heartfelt Cornish hospitality and the people who bring it to life, from The Alverton in Truro and The Atlantic on Newquay’s dramatic north coast, to The Greenbank and The Falmouth, two of the town’s icons for generations.

We’re proud of our heritage, passionate about great food and drink, and committed to creating memorable experiences. Just as importantly, we want our hotels to be great places to work, where people can feel part of the team, develop their skills and build a career in hospitality.

We are looking for a reliable and welcoming Night Porter to join our team, working three nights per week from 10pm until 8am.

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming late arrivals and assisting guests with check-in and enquiries

  • Providing friendly and helpful service to guests throughout the night

  • Carrying out regular checks of the hotel to help maintain a safe and secure environment

  • Keeping public areas clean, tidy and presentable

  • Assisting with overnight cleaning and other general hotel duties

  • Preparing areas of the hotel for the following day's service

  • Responding to guest requests and dealing with any issues calmly and professionally

  • Following hotel security, health and safety procedures

  • Completing any necessary handovers and overnight records

Requirements
  • A reliable, responsible and trustworthy approach to work

  • A friendly manner and a genuine commitment to guest service

  • The ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • Confidence handling guest queries and resolving problems where possible

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends and bank holidays

  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer-facing role would be beneficial

Benefits
  • 100% shared tips

  • Full training and support

  • Opportunities to grow and progress within our collection

  • Staff discounts, including room rates, food and drink, spa treatments and free use of our leisure clubs (gym and swimming pool)

  • Company pension contributions

  • The chance to participate in charity fundraisers and environmental initiatives

  • Staff rewards and parties
