When the sun’s shining, our huge garden comes alive with guests — full of laughter, pints, and plates served fast. It’s a buzzing summer hotspot just waiting for a kitchen leader, supporting our head chef who can rise to the challenge and lead from the front. And when winter arrives, it’s all about roaring log fires, cosy corners, and heartwarming classics cooked to perfection.  

What’s On Your Plate:  

  • Staying cool: Lead the kitchen team with confidence, clarity, and calm, especially when our huge garden is bustling.
  • Ownership: Our head chef owns their menu with full autonomy — from classic pub staples to seasonal specials
  • Ambition: Work closely with our Head Chef to provide the best pub food in the area. Driving our pub to the next level.
  • Standards: Maintain impeccable hygiene and safety standards.
  • Focus: Relentless drive to smash GP and sales targets.
  • Camraderie: Take the reins with your team's development, using company training ensuring your team is the best they can be.

What we look for in a Sous Chef:

This role requires someone that can inspire a team, to bring out the potential and lead by example whilst being able to maintain delicious, consistent plates of food.

  • Have experience championing excellent service through quality food either as a Sous Chef.
  • Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
  • Be an active hands-on team player with excellent communication skills
  • Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times.
  • Be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
  • Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour
  • Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams

What we look for in a Sous Chef:

We are looking for an existing Sous Chef or Senior CDP looking for their next step, who considers themselves as a natural leader with a passion and flare for producing quality fresh food in an environment that makes people feel welcome. As the successful Sous Chef you will:

  • Have experience championing excellent service through quality food
  • Demonstrate a passion for leading and developing a team
  • Be an active hands-on Chef with excellent communication skills
  • Be responsible and able to manage the kitchen staff rota, training and all health and safety effectively at all times
  • Working alongside your Head Chef, you will be able to demonstrate your creativity and ability by helping to design and deliver new dishes for our menus and daily specials
  • Demonstrate great planning and organisational skills, necessary to maintain effective controls with regard to both GP and labour
  • Have a pro-active approach to driving sales and delivering growth, through engagement with both kitchen and front of house teams
