From Sun-Soaked Summers to Fireside Winters – We’re Looking for a Sous Chef Ready to Step Up and Make a Difference

When the sun’s out, our huge garden is packed — full of energy, fast-paced service, and flavour-packed plates. In winter, the tempo shifts: it’s all about roaring fires, comforting dishes, and warm, welcoming service. We’re looking for a confident Sous Chef who can thrive in both seasons and help drive our kitchen forward.

You’ll be working closely with Trevor, our experienced and passionate Head Chef, to lead the team, develop exciting dishes, and deliver consistently high standards. This is a great opportunity to learn, grow, and step into more responsibility — whether you’re already a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous ready for that next challenge.

What’s On Your Plate:

  • Support: Be the Head Chef’s right hand — running the pass, guiding the team, and keeping cool under pressure.

  • Standards: Ensure every plate that leaves the kitchen is something to be proud of.

  • Passion: Bring creativity to specials and energy to service — with a real love of seasonal, quality ingredients.

  • Leadership: Help train, mentor, and inspire the brigade — nurturing talent and maintaining team morale.

  • Focus: Take ownership of kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence — from stock to safety to service.

What We’re Looking For in a Sous Chef:

  • Experience as a Sous Chef or a strong Junior Sous ready to step up

  • A passion for fresh food and high standards, even when it’s busy

  • A calm and confident leader who can support and motivate the team

  • Someone with a creative streak and a desire to contribute to menu development

  • A hands-on operator who understands the balance between food quality, safety, and hitting your numbers

  • Organised, reliable, and ambitious – with a desire to grow into a Head Chef role down the line
