Responsibilities:
Has at least 5 years of experience serving in restaurants and basic knowledge in food & beverage.
Always provides prompt, courteous, and professional food & beverage service to all restaurant guests.
Reports to the Supervisor/Manager before a shift starts to obtain the assigned station.
Ensures that work areas/stations are clean, orderly, and stocked with the specified condiments and amenities.
Ensures that tables are set properly according to assigned stations.
Consistently notifies Supervisor/Manager of any inventory that needs to be ordered or stocked.
Completes side duties; stocking condiments, folding napkins, polishing silver/glassware, preparing rollups, etc.
Maintains complete knowledge of restaurant floor layout to serve guests efficiently.
Adheres to an established sequence of service standards.
Ensures guests are greeted within two minutes.
Ensures guests’ orders are taken in a timely manner.
Acknowledges a guest immediately and by name if possible.
Maintains complete knowledge of all food & beverage items, prices, ingredients, methods of preparation, and availability.
Able to provide suggestions to guests while describing tastes and flavors in the food, wine, and craft cocktails.
Accurately opens all checks and enters information on the point-of-sale system.
Ensures that all guest orders are accurate before serving.
Maintains proper table maintenance in between courses.
Effectively performs tableside service with poise, confidence, and compliance with all safety and sanitation standards.
Ensures that all sales are accounted for and accurate prior to presenting a check to the guest.
Ensures that guest receives their check in a timely manner.
Follows all cash handling procedures and check-closing procedures.
Ensure coupons, comps, room charge, credit card, etc. are settled in compliance with accounting policies.
Verifies all check discrepancies with Supervisor/Manager before changing and closing.
Exhibits extreme care when handling dishware, glassware, silverware, and food product.
Helps to keep the restaurant sanitized up to training standards.
Includes all responsibilities listed under beverage runner, food runner, and server assistant.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous experience of serving in a fine-dining restaurant is mandatory.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with guests.
Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
