Description

Job Summary

The Barback’s role is to organize, stock and maintain the general cleanliness of the bar area ensuring that staff can work safely and efficiently. This includes stocking and re-stocking all bar inventories and supplies, as well as assisting bartenders and cocktail servers (when applicable) in all aspects of guest service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Properly sets-up the bar stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed by management
  • Maintain general cleanliness of bar and bar area, and the entire venue.
  • Maintains inventory of bar supplies and alerts managers when supplies are low.
  • Ensures the delivery of all food and beverage to the guests.
  • Always sorts and separates recyclable and deposit bottles.  Places all recyclable items in proper crates.
  • Always immediately notifies Supervisor of any broken equipment or problems with the bar areas or storage rooms.
  • Consistently maintains an awareness of promotional events and shows.
  • Always enters drink orders into the P.O.S. system in an organized and accurate method.
  • Always follows department training standards. (i.e.: clean-as-you-go, re-check guest, etc.).
  • Accurately completes all end-of-shift financial procedures.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years previous fine dining experience
  • Previous experience working in a large fast paced restaurant setting
  • Demonstrates effective oral & written communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Possesses excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills and time management ability.

Certifications Required

  • RBS Certification
  • Food Handling Safety certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.
  • Role may include exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts days, evenings, weekends and holidays
