Job Summary

The Reservationist is the very first impression of the establishment and not only do they have to the ability to set the standard for excellent service with guests, they can make some of the most critical decisions regarding the volume of business. They control the flow of the evening and communicate special requests to management and team before the guest ever enters the property. They must exemplify genuine hospitality, expertise in their reservations system, and poise under pressure. Articulation, conviviality, and diction are critical to the job, because they are the voice of the entire establishment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains constant awareness of table availability in reservation system.
  • Exhibits genuine hospitality, going above and beyond the guest expectations. 
  • Complete knowledge of all venues based off of policy and procedures
  • Greet guests warmly with clear, articulate diction.
  • Always ensures that menu is up to date and printed before opening of venue.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the office.
  • Answer the phone with a positive attitude and help with guest request.
  • Maintain good relations with guests
  • Appropriately tag all VIP guests in Resy
  • Always verifies the total number of guests in each party.  
  • Always demonstrates a pleasant demeanor and a sincere desire to be responsive to guest’s needs.    
  • Accurately handles reservations and communicates the outlet’s hours of operation and encourages guest(s) to reserve a table in another outlet if booked.
  • Refers reservations over 8 to the Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ years fine dining work experience.
  • Prior experience as a host preferred.
  • Must have experience in a guest facing position.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
