Position: Reception Manager – New Opening

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to £45,000 inclusive of tronc

We’re looking for a Reception Manager with exceptional leadership, systems knowledge, and a passion for guest service to lead our front-of-house host team.

As Reception Manager, you’ll be the face of the venue and the first point of contact for our guests. You’ll lead and manage a team of 9 Senior Hosts and Hosts, ensuring every guest receives a warm, professional welcome.

Your experience with platforms like SevenRooms and OpenTable will be essential for managing high-volume bookings and guest communications. You’ll be responsible for the smooth and professional operation of the reception team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Reception and Host team
  • Ensure all guests are welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency
  • Oversee and manage all reservations using SevenRooms and OpenTable
  • Coordinate guest flow across the venue to maximise service, bookings, and table turns
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regular guests, VIPs, and high-profile clientele
  • Ensure clear and consistent communication between reception, floor, and management teams
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and development to your team
  • Maintain front desk standards, ensuring appearance, etiquette, and guest handling are always to the highest level
  • Collaborate with marketing and events teams to manage guest lists, private bookings, and special events

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar high-volume reception/host management role
  • Experience using SevenRooms and OpenTable is essential
  • Proven experience managing and developing a front-of-house team
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills, especially with VIP and high-profile guests
