Description
Clipstone is a modern neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia. In our small, bright space we take a creative approach to ingredient-led dishes and our exemplary wine list. We are proud of our reputation as a great employer and want to work with our team members to build fulfilling and rewarding hospitality careers.

The Role
As a leading member of the Clipstone kitchen team, you will be responsible for the smooth running of lunch and dinner services. You will be expected to set a positive example, be punctual and to contribute to a healthy and happy working environment in the restaurant, supported in doing so by the wider management team.  This role will be ideal for those who are looking to further develop their career in a top-quality, kitchen and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Ensuring all mis en place has been prepared ahead of service
  • Contributing towards training and management of a healthy, happy team
  • Keeping sections clean, orderly and tidy throughout the day, with a full kitchen clean down at the end of each day
  • Helping to prepare daily team meals in a timely manner
  • Contributing to the testing and development of new dishes
  • Keeping daily deliveries and stock organised, ensuring stock rotation and quality checks of all ingredients
  • Overseeing kitchen maintenance and upkeep
  • Overseeing clear communication between the kitchen and front of house teams
  • Helping the kitchen team to complete all health and safety procedures and checks, following EHO guidelines
  • Exemplifying the culture, attitude and behaviour of The Woodhead Restaurant Group as outlined in the Employee Handbook
About You
The ideal candidate will:
  • be friendly, enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude and a desire to learn
  • really care about providing a fantastic experience for guests
  • work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • have clear communication skills
  • be passionate about food and produce, with a basic understanding of wine and beverages
  • have previous experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant (ideally a minimum of 1 year)
Above all else we prize a positive attitude eagerness to learn and people who enjoy and take pride in their work.

Why Woodhead?
Our food and drink menus are constantly changing so you'll constantly be introduced to new ingredients and wines to learn about. Our daily briefings are some of the best around (as is our staff food).

We have a considered and impactful perks package and are dedicated to creating an environment that gets the best out of our people.

About us
Woodhead Restaurant Group comprises 5 restaurants, all located in London.

We started with one restaurant (Portland in 2015) and added a few more into the fold over the last few years, driven by the talent of our teams rather than any grand expansion strategy.

The Woodhead Restaurant Group is an equal opportunities employer. Our aim is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams. We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us, and to be themselves at work. If you would like to read our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy, please ask and we will be happy to share it with you.
