Ideal Candidate:

Position Overview:
This position plays a critical role in managing multiple, concurrent Civil Site Development projects for our new Glamping resort communities (this is not a vertical construction role). This is a Denver-based position reporting directly to the VP of Development and spending equal amounts of time in the office as well as on-sites across the country. Estimated 50% travel. Supervise external consultants and collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders from Development, Design & Construction, Entitlements, Real Estate, Operations, Facilities Management.

Scope of Responsibilities:
• Manage projects from pre-development to close out, including entitlement.
• Coordinate and manage camp design process focused on rural civil site development including environmental planning reports, wells and pumping systems, septic systems, wastewater treatment, trails, roadways, and bridges.
• Identify needs, hire, and manage design and engineering consultants.
• Oversee feasibility, cost effectiveness, and plans created by consultants, ensuring alignment with our values relating to minimal impact, preserving natural beauty and minimizing use of resources.
• Originate and manage project schedules with consultants and contractors to ensure necessary permit and construction deadlines are met.
• Incorporate and track internal stakeholder deliverable's into project schedules, including entitlement process and operations activities.
• Assist with due diligence of potential properties by engaging with local engineers, municipalities, and governing bodies to gain a complete understanding of feasibility the civil permitting process.
• Think creatively to overcome obstacles presented by our unique offering, including ascertaining when variances, waivers, or deviations are required to achieve goals.
• Create/evaluate contracts with design and engineering consultants and construction contractors.
• Represent Under Canvas in a personable and professional manner in meetings with agencies, governing bodies and the public.
• Generate and track development budgets and estimates for full project scope to include all design and construction activities.
• Track and review for approval all project change orders, payment requests, and billings.
• Maintain critical path schedules and manage local engineering/design consultants and contractors.
• Create and document processes and procedures for camp maintenance and permit compliance.
• Maintain organized project folders with all records of all relevant project files.
• Create and maintain a repository of standard CAD details for common design elements.
• Host and administer project coordination calls to include schedule and project status updates, agenda creation, and follow up actions.

Skills Required:
• Ability to successfully manage a min. of 3+ multiple, large, concurrent projects from beginning to end, preferably related to design, engineering, and permitting.
• Experience in rural civil site development preferably related to wells and pumping systems, septic systems, wastewater treatment, trails, roadways, and bridges.
• Ability to leverage horizontal and vertical construction methods and techniques including ability to guide, critique and evaluate engineering and architectural consultants.
• Experience creating development budgets, project schedules, and communicating with consultants and contractors, preferably individual-trade subcontracting.
• Ability to navigate through dynamics of each location and predict the interests of stakeholders.
• Persistence and ability to create alternative solutions to overcome obstacles.
• Ability to gain consensus, a strong work ethic, initiative, and conflict resolution skills.
• Outstanding organization, planning, and attention to detail.
• Technical skills: Microsoft Suite proficiency, critical path scheduling software, and AutoCAD is a plus. Prior experience with Procore is strongly preferred.
• PE or Engineering background preferred.

Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Planning or related field and 5+ years’ experience.
