Description
We’re looking for an experienced Events Manager to co-ordinate all events and functions held at The Great House / Coppa Club located on the beautiful River Thames in Sonning.

About the role

The Events Manager will work closely with the Sales Team, General Managers and Head Chef to ensure a smooth to co-ordination of all events and functions held in the brand new event space.

There are no sales involved with this position, the Events Manager will co-ordinate the events created by the Hotel Sales Team.

As an Events Manager you will work 5 days per week, including, but not always, weekends and bank holidays.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the co-ordination and smooth running of all events made by the Events & Marketing Team.
• Preparation and costing of rotas for the function room make sure all rosters are posted in a timely manner for all staff.
• Supporting the Events Sales Team & General Manager in the implementing of marketing strategies designed to achieve budgeted targets.
• Follow up on any member and customer enquiries in relation to new function bookings, tours of the venue, conduct food tasting, meetings and relay all relevant function information to corporate groups.
• Liaising with the Head Chef regarding menus and function packages. Update the Chef on a weekly basis on all upcoming function and events, dietary requirements and any special requests. Also updating all staff on any event related changes that may affect the event.
• In the absence of a supervisory floor staff member during any day, the Event Manager must supervise floor staff to ensure compliance with all their assigned duties including all opening and closing procedures.
• Conduct weekly meetings with General Managers and Head Chef in relation to upcoming events

About you

• 2+ years experience managing functions / banqueting in a similar environment – Hotels & Restaurants
• Experience managing a team, preparation and costing of rotas
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
• Highly organised and able to manage various multiple projects/tasks at once
• Experience in recruiting, coaching and developing of staff
• Managing KPI’s
• Highly creative and full of ideas and energy for driving our brand forward
• Strong interest in food, drinks and events
