Overnight Innkeeper (11 PM to 7 AM)
Location: Copper Vine Wine Pub & Inn | New Orleans, Louisiana
Pay: $18–$24 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time
Who we are
We are a small, service-driven restaurant and inn in the heart of the CBD. Guests choose us for warm hospitality, local know-how, and a calm, reliable presence at all hours. Overnight is quiet but still important. You will be the friendly face that keeps guests comfortable and the property running smoothly.
What you will do
Welcome and assist late arrivals, lost keys, and simple amenity requests like extra towels.
Keep common areas tidy and safe with light touch-ups during the night.
Walk the property at set intervals and keep an eye on doors, corridors, stairwells, and exterior areas.
Spot and report maintenance needs to the management and facilities teams.
Keep a clear, time-stamped log of overnight activities, guest requests, and any incidents.
Follow safety and cleaning procedures.
Handle emergencies professionally using our protocols.
De-escalate issues and, when needed, warn or remove disruptive individuals.
Provide first response to injuries. Call EMS when appropriate and complete incident reports.
Respond to alarms and investigate likely causes.
Offer safe escorts to team members or guests heading to their cars after hours.
Set up early morning coffee and breakfast for guests.
Complete the overnight report and hand-off to the daytime innkeeper.
Help with other reasonable tasks as assigned.
What a great night looks like
Guests feel welcomed, rested, and informed.
The building is secure and presentable.
Small problems are solved quickly, and bigger ones are flagged with clear notes.
The morning team arrives to a clean, accurate handoff and a ready-to-go breakfast setup.
What you bring
Reliable and on time. Overnight coverage depends on you.
High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of related experience or training, or a similar mix of skills and experience.
Comfortable working overnight, including some weekends and holidays.
Integrity and good judgment. Able to work independently and do the right thing.
Hospitality experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Clear, simple communication with guests and teammates.
Basic problem solving for guest needs and urgent issues.
Calm under pressure. Experience defusing tense situations is a plus.
Knows when to escalate to a supervisor and how to reassure guests.
Basic troubleshooting for simple issues like tripped breakers, minor plumbing concerns, thermostat and A/C settings, Wi-Fi resets, and smart TV inputs or remotes.
Physical requirements
On your feet for most of the shift.
Lift up to 45 pounds.
Frequent walking and standing.
Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting, and climbing stairs.
Appearance and conduct
Neat, clean, and well-groomed.
Professional, friendly, and guest-first at all times.
