Job Description: Server (Breakfast and Lunch)
Position Title: Server (Breakfast/Lunch) | Hours: 6:30 AM – 10:30 AM – 3:00 pm
Position Summary
The Inn Breakfast Server is the first point of contact for inn guests each morning, setting the tone for their daily experience and a key touchpoint in the guest journey. This role combines warm hospitality with strong attention to detail, ensuring breakfast service is both efficient and polished while also supporting early guest communications and property readiness. The ideal candidate is a dependable “morning person” who arrives ready to provide an outstanding guest experience. The candidate could then transition into a lunch server shift. If you only want to do breakfast service, we want you too!
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve the daily inn breakfast according to Copper Vine standards.
Greet guests warmly and maintain a welcoming, professional atmosphere.
Communicate with the kitchen manager to ensure smooth operations, including accommodating special requests.
Manage early-morning guest communications via Whistle (amenity requests, directions, late check-outs, etc.).
Ensure breakfast areas remain fully stocked, clean, and presentable throughout service.
Perform side duties such as refilling coffee, resetting tables, and replenishing supplies.
Present a $0 check to guests who want to leave a tip through a room charge.
Support the Innkeeper and AM Manager in addressing morning guest needs or issues.
Transition breakfast service smoothly into the lunch period when scheduled.
Uphold Copper Vine standards of professionalism, timeliness, and guest-first hospitality.
Sample schedule:
7am-10am: Breakfast
10am-10:30: Breakfast breakdown
10:30am: Lunch Pre-shift
11:00am: Lunch service (10:30 Brunch)
Out by 2:30-3:00pm
Qualifications & Skills
Prior experience in polished casual F&B concepts preferred.
Morning-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently.
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, guest-first demeanor.
Comfortable using property management and communication systems (training provided for CloudBeds, Whistle, Toast).
Ability to multi-task and remain composed in a fast-paced service environment.
Must be able to lift over 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Competitive minimum gross hourly wage $17–22/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities:
• Prepare room for dining by setting decorations, glasses, placemats, menus, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils as necessary.
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests and properly and effectively communicating them.
• Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars prior to food or beverage presentation.
• Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
• Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return
• Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Provide welcoming phone greeting and following Guest ordering procedures
• Convey menu information over the phone to Guests and give accurate estimate of delivery time
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
• Fill in for absent staff as needed
• Assist with special events as needed
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
• Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
Qualifications:
• Previous serving experience required
• Excellent oral communication skills required
• Positive interpersonal skills required
• Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
• Necessary Alcohol and/or Food Handlers Card Certification
• Good telephone speaking and listening ability
