Description

THE JOB

This position will support the real estate development department to manage multiple restaurant construction projects, responsible for pre-construction estimating and diligence, permitting and bids, through construction complete and project close-out.  As the owner’s representative, this position has cost, schedule, and quality responsibilities including: on budget and on time project delivery, schedule optimization, document management and control, forecasting/risk analysis, and cost/schedule reporting.

●        Supervise and coordinate all construction processes from conceptual construction and estimating through punch list and handover to ensure design specifications are met.

●        Reviews schematic design concepts for thoroughness, code compliance and conformity to department standards.

●        Effective management of our architect, engineers, contractors, vendors and governmental agencies to ensure schedules and deliverables are met, on time and on budget.

●        Coordinate, bid and negotiate contracts for procurement and with general contractors.

●        Communicate construction progress and issues to cross-functional team members, such as operations, marketing, and human resources.

●        Create and manage budgets and schedules leveraging SaaS (SmartSheets and RSMeans) to assist with tracking costs, timelines and tasks, while providing critical updates to be shared up and down and across the company. 

●        Ad hoc projects and assist in administrative duties as necessary.

 

ABOUT YOU

A self-starter, motivated to exceed expectations, and capable at delivering projects on time and on budget.  This person will be present in a traditional office environment, and will manage travel as need to accomplish their job.  Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts both internally and externally.  Lastly, this person will have a strong ability to schedule and estimate.  This is not a remote job.

●        Five years’ experience in construction management.

●        Experience must be specific to restaurants, both shell and finish-out tenant improvement.

●        Degree in project management, civil engineering or architecture, preferred.
