Position Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is a vital part of the People Department at Cafe Rio.  This position works with the Compliance/Employee Relations team to ensure that Team Members are treated fairly and with respect as well as confirming Cafe Rio complies with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.  This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Complete I9 reverifications

·         Work with Operations Team in California to ensure required sexual harassment training has been completed.

·         Follow up on California team members who failed to take required meal break

·         Review new-hire report to ensure any minors are working in appropriate positions

·         Ensure all required labor law posters are received and posted

·         Maintain COI records and Safe Admin Codes.

·         Investigate mobile app usage by team members to identify fraud.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels

·         Great time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities with keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel;

·         Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external clients

·         Bilingual (English/Spanish)

·         Associate’s Degree in Human Resources or related field a plus
