Compensation: $35.00 per hour 


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function. This role will be responsible for managing one Accounts Payable Clerk and ensuring timely and accurate organization and processing of invoices, payments, reconciliations and general accruals. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a commitment to accuracy, is proactive and able to take ownership of responsibilities with little direction, and has the ability to lead and mentor staff.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the daily activities of the Accounts Payable Clerk.
  • Oversee the full accounts payable cycle including invoice receipt, coding, expense reports, approvals, data entry, and payment processing.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards.
  • Prepare weekly payment pre-runs and weekly payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain vendor records, including W-9 forms, new vendor intake forms and payment terms.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities including accruals and reconciliations.
  • Generate and analyze AP aging reports and other relevant financial data.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with internal departments concerning purchase orders, bill approvals and budgeting
  • Oversee Utilities set-up and account maintenance for 150+ store locations.
  • Assist the Operational Accounting Manager with various ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Oracle preferred but not required) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use independent decision making when complex issues arise, and determine appropriate actions.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately, without need

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of 1099 processing.
  • Previous experience in a similar industry or company size.
